WARD _ Elsie Josephine 1919 - 2005 Elsie Josephine Ward passed away on Monday, January 24, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Born in St. James (Winnipeg), Manitoba, Elsie was educated and married there before moving to Calgary in 1950. She was a homemaker and loved to garden, sew, and cook. She worked for Eaton's in Winnipeg before marriage and later for Beauty Counselor as a consultant for twenty years. Elsie will be remembered for her kind, loving spirit and wonderful sense of humour. She is survived by son Robert (Bob) Ward and family, Jason, Michael, Dustin and their mother Linda of Ladner, B.C.; son Thomas (Tom) Ward (Lorraine) of Saanich, B.C. and family, granddaughter Tracey Moulton (Dave), great-granddaughter Emily, great-grandson Ben of New Mexico, and grandson Darren of Victoria, B.C.; daughter Dianne (Lyle) Schmidt and family, granddaughter Kerry (Perry Riley), great-grandson Jayden, granddaughter Kimberly (Jason) Dyck, great-grandsons, Matthew and Rylan, great-granddaughter Hannah and grandson Ryan Schmidt (special friend Rosalie Dawson), all of Calgary. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Arthur James (Jim) on May 27, 1995; grandson James Kenneth (Jimmy) Ward in 1985; parents Agnus and Thomas McDonnell; brother Stanley; and sister Kathleen Olivier, all of Winnipeg. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church (2424 - 24 Avenue N.W.) on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Silvano Vargas, Presider.
