Obituary of Elsie-Mae Jennings


JENNINGS Elsie Mae Jennings, age 66 of Bridgeport died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at her home. Born in Crewe, Va., Elsie resided in Bridgeport for 46 years. She worked as a C.N.A. at Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center. She was a member of East End Baptist Church and a former member of the Sr. Choir. She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Cousin Jr. and Fernando Cousin, one sister, Louise Chapman. She leaves to cherish her memories five sons, Horace E Jennings Jr. and Larry Jennings of Bridgeport, Terrence Jennings of Middletown, Darin Jennings of Waterbury, and Michael Jennings of Florida; three daughters, Lawanda Jefferson of Bridgeport, Gwendolyn Bernard of Waterbury and Sonia Jennings of Waterbury; one brother, Clarence Cousin of Virgina; five sisters, Theresa Scott and Laura Bailey of Maryland, Margaret Folkes, Leola Epes and Nancy King of Virginia; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandson; and a host of nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at East End Baptist Church, 548 Central Avenue, Bridgeport, with Reverend Dr. C.L. Stallworth officiating. Interment will take place in Blackstone, Va. on February 2, 2009. Friends are invited to the viewing Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Morton's Mortuary, 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport is in charge of arrangements.
