GRANT, Elsie Rosanna (Corry) April 2, 1918 - December 23, 2014 Elsie Grant, formerly Elsie Olson, passed away on December 23, 2014 at the age of 96.She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Higginson (Olson); one son in law, Bob Buehrer and his wife Wanda, six grandchildren, Rhonda (Buehrer) and husband Gord Choate, Todd Buehrer and his wife Margo, Roberta (Higginson) and husband Darren, and Christopher Higginson and wife Jill, Carrie (Johnman) and her husband Brian, Steven Johnman and his wife Jennifer; and twelve great- grandchildren, Robert and Andrew Choate, Ally and Julia Buehrer, Sinead and Riley Grewcock, Charlotte and Spencer Higginson, Brady and Cooper Desjarlais and Jack and Sam Johnman,Elsie was predeceased by her father Christopher in 1946, and her mother Hilda in 1983, first husband Emil Olson in 1973, second husband Ross Grant in 1991, and oldest daughter Dee Dee in 1977.Elsie was a hairdresser and owned her own beauty salon in Vegreville, Alberta. She and Emil raised two daughters there after moving from Hardisty, and later relocated to Edmonton where she resided in her own home until recently. Elsie is remembered for her love of a good story, being a loyal friend, and generosity toward others. She was a strong Christian who believed in the Lord and his plan for us all. A special thank you to the amazing staff at Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre who have made the past seven months special for Elsie as she transitioned out of her own home and into her resting place.Please join us in a celebration of Elsie's life. Funeral services will be held at Southside Memorial Chapel 8310 104 Street on Tuesday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m.If you so choose, a donation in Elsie's name can be made to the Edmonton Humane Society, a charity dear to her heart.
