GOFFSTOWN -- Elsie B. Johnson, 93, died May 17, 2010, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown. She was born June 4, 1916, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., to Fredrick and Bertha (Jabs) Brauer. She was raised and educated in Mt. Vernon and graduated from high school in 1934. She furthered her education by attending business school. She briefly worked at a dental office in New York City and in Mt. Vernon before marrying Arnold H. Johnson in 1941. She was a former member of the Bronxville First Baptist Church in New York. She moved to Goffstown in 1990 to be near her daughter. She enjoyed caring for children, knitting, crocheting, reading, puzzles and music. Her family includes her daughter Linnea Johnson of Goffstown; a brother, Fredrick Brauer of Rye, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. IN HER LIFE: She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold H. Johnson; a son, Russell Johnson; two brothers, Albert Brauer and Edwin Brauer; and a sister, Helen Graves. SERVICES: A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Ave., Valhalla.
