Funeral services for Elmer Lee Carter 84 will be at 2:00 p.m. today May 12 2003 from the Chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. James Abbitt officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Carter a retired farmer died Saturday May 10 2003 at Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Memphis. He was born in Madison County son of the late Henry Bell and Velma Lewis Carter. Mr. Carter was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by a son Ronald Lee Carter and two brothers Henry Bell Carter Jr. and De Roy Carter. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Jo Helen Rainey Carter of Medina; a daughter Sharon Marie Bland of Medina; two sons Terry Lee Carter of Milan and Michael Joe Carter of Medina; two sisters Evie Jane Hailey of Bunnell FL and Suzy Holloway of Palm Beach FL; six grandchildren and a great grandchild.
