?Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Rainbow Memorial Gardens for Elmer Chester "Bud" Brown, 82, Gadsden, who died March 8, 2010. The Rev. John Richey will officiate. Burial at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.Mr. Brown was retired from Pemco (Hayes Aircraft) after more than 30 years. He was a veteran of the Army and the Navy. He loved to write Christian poems and songs.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Ann Reeves; parents, Thomas Preston and Mae Sosbee Brown; and his brother, Hamilton Brown.He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lee Brown, Glencoe; grandson, Billy Kay (Stephanie) Reeves Jr., Gadsden; great-grandson, Brandon Reeves, Gadsden; sister, Helen Duncan, Gallant; niece, Gail (Joe) Chesnut, Gallant; nephew, James T. Duncan, Maryland; several great-nieces and nephews; chosen grandchildren, Jamie and Jason Duke; and chosen great-grandchildren, Dalton, Colton and Kayton Duke.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Etowah Baptist Mission Center, P.O. Drawer L, Gadsden, AL 35904.Pallbearers will be friends and family.Honorary pallbearer will be best friend, Raymond Brown.Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of fourth floor at Riverview for their care and compassion. We are so deeply grateful for the loving concern and untiring care by the hospice nurses, Anita, Karen and Freida. Our family will not forget your faithfulness.
