Watkinsville - Ellen S. Williams, 86, wife of the late William Mell Williams, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospice House.Born in Decatur, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Frank Allen and Fannie Lou Guill Smith. She retired from Bellsouth as a clerk, and was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School and the Choir.Survivors include her sons: Charles M. Williams of Savannah, Steven D. Williams of Heber Springs, Ark.; daughter: Beth Clarke of Watkinsville; brother: Jason R. Smith of DeKalb; grandchildren: Jessica Williams of Cleveland, Ohio, Melanie Williams of Chicago, Ill., Michael Clarke of Nicholson, Nicole Clarke Deaton, Ashley Clarke and Andrew Clarke, all of Watkinsville; great grandchildren: Hayleigh Clarke and J.T. Clarke.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 4 p.m. at Briarwood Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Fuller and Rev. Rick Standard officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenny Searcy, Ed Owenby, Merle Gay, Brian Edenfield, David Laster, Don Blanton, Gene Lyon, Doug Ard and Dan Evans. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Briarwood Baptist Church Building Fund.
