Aug. 26, 1941-Feb. 13, 2008 A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Little-Davenport Funeral Home Chapel for Ellen Mary Davis, 66, of Gainesville. The Rev. Ralph Green will be officiate. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 15, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth following a brief illness. Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 26, 1941, in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada, to the late August and Alma Murka. She has lived in Ottaw, Canada; Richardson, Texas; Roswell; and most recently, she has lived in Gainesville since 1999. Mrs. Davis is of the Lutheran faith. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, John Edward Davis of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn Mary and Timothy Micheal Early of Flowery Branch; son, Matthew Lloyd Davis of Gainesville; brother, Auggie Murka of Arnprior, Ontario, Canada; sister-in-law, Nancy Swayze of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and loving friends.
