Ellen-Margaret-Frisbie Johnson, born in 1935, spouse of Garland Johnson, daughter of Clinton and Jean, mother of Cindy, Robin, Mont, Lisa and Port, died on July 7, 2007.
Ellen Margaret Frisbie Johnson passed away unexpectedly July 7, 2007.Born in Ennis, Montana, on Oct. 9, 1935, to Clinton and Jean Frisbie, she had been a resident of Mobile for over 40 years. Although she had no formal training, she was an accomplished bookkeeper and had kept books for several construction companies over the years. Several members of her family will now have to learn to do their own taxes! She was raised on a ranch, loved to ride horses and garden. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, do crafts and was writing a book. She was a seamstress, sewing everything from poodle skirts to antebellum dresses and Mardi Gras ball gowns.She was preceded in death by her parents; as well as a brother, Freddie; and a grandson, Dustin.Ellen is survived by her husband, Garland Johnson, Howelton. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Willie) Frisbie of Sheridan, Wyo.; children, Cindy McKenzie (Jim Karch) and Robin (Ken) Homan of Helena, Mont., Lisa McKenzie, Port Town-send, Wash., and Daniel McKenzie, Melanie McKenzie and Megan (Dave) Windsor, Mobile; grandchildren, Sky (Jamie), Sunshine, Shane, Ben, McKenzie, Graham, Ian, Allison, Rhythm, Ryme and Autumn; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Maci.Ellen has also been a special "Mom" to many others over the years. She was a dearly loved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She is and will be forever sorely missed. "Bye Mama."Interment services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Southside. Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, in charge.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
