JOHNSON, Ellen - On Tuesday February 3, 2009, Ellen peacefully passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in her 85th year. Predeceased by her loving husband, Edward, her brother John and her grandson Barry Mark. Dear mother of Nell, Shirley (Ron), Stephen (Joyce), Margaret, Raylene (Bruce), and Sandy (Mamik). Cherished grandmother of twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Sister of Margaret (Junior). Ellen will be missed by her many nephews and nieces. Remembered for her fifty years of service with the Catholic Women's League. She dedicated many hours volunteering and visiting with the sick and elderly. She was an enthusiastic member of the craft and quilting guilds for many years and she was an avid bridge player. Ellen is resting at the Morse & Son Chapel of the MORGAN FUNERAL HOMES, 5917 Main St., where her family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Vigil will be held at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon at 3:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church on Friday morning at 11:00 o'clock. Cremation to follow with an interment planned for the spring.
