TOWNSEND Ellen Gustafson Townsend, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2005. Born on April 12, 1912 in Green Cove Springs, FL she was the last surviving child of Frank and Agnes Gustafson, famously known as "Mama and Papa Gus", the founders of Gustafson's Dairy. Mrs. Townsend was a devout Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Green Cove Springs. She was a graduate of Stetson University and a member of Pi Phi Sorority as well as the PEO Sorority. Mrs. Townsend was a member of the Village Improvement Association and will be dearly missed by her loving family, beloved classmates and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes "Mama and Papa Gus" Gustafson and a son, Frank Gustafson Townsend. Survivors include her son, Jack F. (Nancy G.) Townsend, III of Green Cove Springs, FL; 3 grandchildren, Jack F. Townsend, IV, and Laura and Maria Townsend; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jack F. Townsend, V, John B. Bowman and Garth and Julia Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2005 in the Chapel of Broadus-Raines & Pons Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005 at the funeral home.
