Ahl, Ellen COLONIE Ellen "Micki" Marie Ahl, 66, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Sunday, November 23, 2014. Born in Albany, she is the daughter of Aloysius Hofaker and the late Eileen Hofaker. Micki had just recently retired in January from Pearl Carroll and Associates after many years of service as a customer service representative. She was an avid artist and enjoyed painting both water colors and pastels. She was a former member of the Bethlehem Art Association and the Colonie Art League. Micki also loved to vacation with her husband in Florida at the Wallaby Ranch hang gliding park. Micki is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Allen Ahl; her cherished daughter, Jacqueline Ahl; and her siblings, Ronald (Janet) Hofaker, Katherine Kennedy, Janice (Kevin) Tighe, Timothy (Gretchen) Hofaker, Karl Hofaker, Christine Iannotti and Denise (Kevin) Dollard. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. As Micki was a breast cancer survivor, the family asks that those wishing to remember her in a special way make memorial contributions in her name to the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation, 449 Rt. 146 Suite 101 Clifton Park, NY 12065. Calling hours for Micki will be held Friday, November 28 from 5-7 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home. A brief service celebrating Micki's life will be held following the calling hours where family and friends will be encouraged to share their special memories.
