Ellen C. Lane, 80, Sarasota, died Aug. 15, 2006. She was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Cleveland and came to Sarasota from there 33 years ago. She retired in 1976 as a psychologist. She graduated from Connecticut College and was a member of Temple Beth Sholom. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Sloan of Chicago; sons David of Houston and Fred of Sarasota; a sister, Alice Kaye of West Palm Beach; a brother, Harvey Amster of Oakland, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is handling arrangements.
