AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ms. Ellen Alexander, 47, of Russell Street, Augusta, GA passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005 at University Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Johnson and is survived by her mother, Mildred Johnson of Augusta; her brother, Val Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Franny, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a niece, Nita Johnson Lee (Steven); her nephew, DuVal Johnson, III, and one great nephew, Macon Patrick Lee, as well as a host of other family and friends. Ms. Alexander was born in Washington, North Carolina on August 21, 1957 and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Salem College with a degree in English and received both Masters and Specialist Degrees from Augusta State University in Educational Leadership. Ms. Alexander was writing her dissertation to complete her Doctorate at Georgia Southern University. Ellen was a teacher for many years including two years spent teaching at the Marist Brothers School in Kobe, Japan. She was employed by the Richmond County Board of Education as a teacher and administrator and was most recently serving as an assistant principal at Glenn Hills High School. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 5:00 pm at Thomas Poteet & Sons, Davis Rd. with visitation to follow afterward. Graveside services will be held in Washington, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Beaufort County Community College Foundation, P. O.
