ELLA MAEADAMS, 73 AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Ella Mae Adams, age 73 a resident of Auburndale passed away Christmas Eve at her residence due to heart failure. Mrs. Adams was born October 28, 1938 in Rowan County, Kentucky to Earnest Glenmore and Nina Gertrude (Fugate) Bocook. She and her husband were Polk County residents since 1967 coming from Ohio. She was a homemaker, a retired Teacher and Principal. She taught at both Lewis Elementary School in Ft. Meade and Garner Elementary School in Winter Haven. Ella Mae was a past Principal for Eagle Lake Elementary School. She was a District Supervisor for Polk County Schools, Past President of the Florida Association for Early Childhood Educators & Administrators. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Auburndale, Sunday school Teacher, member of the Crafty Ladies Club, Member of the Finance Committee and was the Chair for the Church SPRC (Staff Parrish Relations Committee). Ella Mae enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, flower gardening, helping others in anyway she could and loved her family & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.Ella Mae is survived by her family; Husband of 54 Years, Lawrence H. Adams of Auburndale, FL.; 2 Sons, Larry Glen (Tina) Adams of Odessa, FL., Brian Lee (Michelle) Adams of Greenfield, IN.; 1 sister, Louise (Fred) Tanner of Sun City, TX.; 1 Niece, Sarah (Pat) Janieck of Houston, TX.; 2 Nephews, Fred (MaryBeth) Tanner, III. of N.C., Glen Tanner of TX.; 6 grandchildren, Brian, Brittany, Lauren, Amanda, Garrett & Andrew, and 6 great grandchildren,Jonathan, Riley, Hagan, Jordan, Cohen & Jackson. In lieu of flowers the family request's donation's in Mrs. Adams's name to either: First United Methodist Church, 316 Lake Ariana Blvd., Auburndale, FL. 33823 OR Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL. 33823. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 316 Lake Ariana Blvd., Auburndale.
