Elizabeth Tompkins Elizabeth Tompkins, 94, died Oct. 27, 2003 in Tucumcari. She was born April 20, 1909 in Amarillo. Mrs. Tompkins was a retired school teacher who taught in Rosebud, Mosquero and Tucumcari. She was a member of the Logan Church of Christ, Daughters of American Revolution, The Nara Visa Garden Club and the Amistad Extenstion Club. Mrs. Tompkins is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Gleen Tompkins who died in 1998. Survivors include two sons, Howard Tompkins and wife Helen of Amistad and Dr. James Tompkins and wife Pam of Tucumcari; daughter, Virginia Tompkins of Tucumcari, sister Louise Axe of Canyon; brother, Edward Goats of Amistad; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ in Logan. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. at the Clayton Cemetery in Clayton. Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
