MILLER Elizabeth Theresa "Tara" Miller of Huntington, died peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on Thursday, August 24, 2006. After courageously battling a long illness, she responded to her Master's call to return to Him with amazing grace, strength and love. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her precious family. The Father Himself gathered all the blessings of her lifetime and seemingly poured them upon her and those gathered with her. Her holy death was the culmination of a lifetime of selfless devotion to her God and her family. Tara was a proud Bronx Irish Catholic who was born in New York City in June 1939 to Michael Joseph "Barney" Prendergast and Elizabeth Veronica McBain. On September 24, 1960, she married her heartthrob, Charlie, in St. Patrick's Cathedral. It was a tremendous celebration and the beginning of her wonderful journey as wife, mother and successful businesswoman. "Mamma Mill' was truly a renaissance woman. She could do it all with great style. Tara's deep love for God, incredible faith and unsurpassed wisdom, changed the lives of those who met her. She was an incredible listener who made the individual with whom she was speaking, the most important person in her life at that moment. She was always kind, infinitely patient, thoughtful and tons of fun. Above all else, she was simply the mom of moms. Wherever she lived, worked, traveled or served, her family always came first. In addition to her devoted husband, Charles, she is survived by two adoring brothers, Bernard and John Prendergast and her four beloved children and their spouses, Christopher and Elaine Miller, Tara and Tom Feir, Tracy and Christopher Richardson and Kerry and Ray Larney. She is also survived by 11 wonderful grandchildren, Brian, Katelyn, Jennifer, Allison and Gregory Miller, Ryan Feir, Michael Joseph, Connor and Sean Richardson and Kevin and Shannon Larney; and nieces and nephews. Mama, we will greatly miss your beautiful smile, radiant blue eyes and gorgeous red hair and look forward to our great "Hootenanny" in heaven. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. in her parish, St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. The Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe has been entrusted with arrangements.
