Elizabeth Sumner Whitmore DUNCAN, SC-- Elizabeth Sumner Whitmore, 79, of 234 Highland Drive, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Russell B. and Pearl L. Sumner and the widow of the late James Ernest Whitmore. Elizabeth was a member of Community Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Ricky J. Whitmore and wife Elaine of Wellford, SC, and Rusty Whitmore of Lyman, SC; a daughter, Donna Ward and husband Reggie of Inman, SC; seven grandchildren, April Nicholson and husband Nick, Amber Stribling and husband Beaver, Ashlee Pules and husband Michael, Breanna Whitmore, Haley Ward, Hannah Ward and Kristen Smith, six great-grandchildren, Riley Stribling, Reid Stribling, Anna Nicholson, Addie Nicholson, Luke and Liam Pules; a brother, Donald Sumner and wife Betty of Enoree, SC, and a sister Loree James and husband Charles of Easley, SC. She was predeceased by two brothers; Ray and Hagan Sumner. Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Jolly and Rev. John Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, April 24, 2009 at Stribling Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
