Elizabeth Seal Walkerof Solana Beach, Calif.Elizabeth Seal Walker, age 97, of Solana Beach, California, died on November 7, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents, Sara and George Seal, Gibson, Pa.; her husbands, Commander Russell Hutchinson in 1953 and Carl Walker in 1979; and by her beloved daughter, Linda Bates in 1985; her sisters, Mildred Seal in 1983, Della McKittrick in 1994, Eleanor Edmonds in 2006; and by her brothers, Howard Seal in 1969, George Seal in 1973, and Ralph Seal in 2000. Elizabeth (Betty) is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Karen Hutchinson, California; and her sister-in-law, Phyllis, Houston, Texas; as well as grandchildren, Corey Derfus, Colorado, Van Hutchinson, Florida, Julia Bates, Michigan, Jennifer Wilson, Pennsylvania, and Matthew Bates, Oregon. Also great-grandchildren, Erin Thomas, Heather Jones, David Wilson, all of Pennsylvania, and Yolanda Shalom Hutchinson, Peru. Elizabeth graduated from Mansfield Teachers College and from the University of Pittsburgh. She taught schools in Betula, Pa., Mount Lebanon, Pa., Beverly Hills, Calif., and Blue Ridge in New Milford, Pa. Betty was a member of New Milford Methodist Church, Junior Guild, Delta Kappa Gamma, Teachers Honorary Society and Retired Teachers AARP. She traveled extensively and was an amateur artist and writer and a lover of life and people.Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, Gibson, Pa. A memorial service will be held at the New Milford Methodist Church in early December.
