Obituary of Elizabeth Stewart


Elizabeth Stewart December 10, 1950 - January 8, 2017 After a joyful and full life, Elizabeth Joan Stewart (nee Roberts) passed away peacefully at May Court Hospice in Ottawa with Tom, her husband of forty-four years, and family by her side. Elizabeth was the daughter of Ruth (nee Hutchinson), and the late Gilbert Roberts. Elizabeth cherished her boys Craig (Kim) and Adam (Elizabeth), and was a most loving grandmother to Charlie (3) and Cole (1). Elizabeth is survived by her siblings Marlene Rock (Wayne), Jim (Sandra), Bill (Jo-Anne), and Donald (Dorothy). Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her nieces Krista and Karling Roberts, her nephews Andrew Roberts and James Rock (Janis), grandniece Hana, and grandnephew Liam. Elizabeth retired as the Office Administrator at Hopewell Avenue Public School in 2006, and spent ten wonderful years in retirement with family and friends pursuing her passions of cooking and entertaining, art, reading, cycling, swimming, and yoga. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre, the CCAC, with special thanks to Dr. Tara Tucker, and the compassionate staff and volunteers at May Court Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Aidan''s Anglican Church in Ottawa in the spring. Details will be provided at a later date.
