TIERNEY - Elizabeth Porter, of Forked River NJ, died Wednesday September 1st, at home. Formerly of Ridgewood NJ, she moved top Forked River seven years ago. She graduated from Red Bank H.S., and received her Registered Nursing degree from Monmouth Hospital of Nursing. While living in Ocean County, she was a parishioner of St. Pius Church and a member of the Women's Club of Forked River. Previously she was a communicant of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Ridgewood, and a member of the Ridgewood Women's Club. Mrs. Tierney was predeceased by her husband James J. Tierney in 1991. Surviving are their daughters Maryann and Noreen, son-in-law Bruce J. Poitrast, grandson Daniel J. Poitrast and his wife Nicole, great-grandchildren Colin and Corey. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mt. Carmel Chapel on Wednesday, September 8 at 10:45 AM. Interment will follow in Christ The King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Scholarship Fund of the Ridgewood Woman's Club, the Scholarship Fund of the Forked River Woman's Club, or to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, 1232 22d Street NW, Washington DC 20037, would be appreciated by the family.
