Elizabeth-Pheobe Miller, born in 1912, spouse of Carl Swanson, daughter of Tom and Ethel, died on March 14, 2008 at 96 years old.
SWANSON, Elizabeth Pheobe 2008-03-17 Elizabeth Pheobe Swanson passed away in her sleep on March 14, 2008 in her 96th year. She was born to pioneers Tom and Ethel Miller in Slate River in May of 1912. Bess lived on the family property on highway 61 until she was 88 years old and ill health forced her to move to the city. She and her husband Carl operated the country store and gas bar "C.A. Swanson & Son" for 35 years. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her grandchildren Brooks and Janis Swanson, great grandson Wolf Bannon, daughter-in-law Jean, care giving nieces Linda Stacy and Jean Black, along with many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Carl in 1971, only son Thorold in November 2007, her parents and siblings and their spouses, Wes and Iris Miller, Clara and Gus Johnson, Mildred and Jack Woods, Doris and Bill Clap, Elva and Tiny Laughton, Ted Miller and other nieces and nephews. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Elizabeth Swanson will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. If friends so desire memorial donations made to the Rural Cupboard Food Bank, the Oliver-Paipoonge Fire and Emergency Services or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
