Elizabeth Betty Miller 93, of Orleans, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Born in Framingham on August 17 1920, she was the daughter of David and Marjory Ogilvie. Betty was raised in Walpole, graduating from Walpole High in 1938. She married the love of her life, Frank L Miller in 1943 and remained in Walpole for more than forty years. Betty worked for the Walpole Public School Administration office for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1984. Upon retiring she moved to Orleans, where she had vacationed in her parents cottage since 1954. She was very active volunteering at the Orleans Council on Aging, preparing meals on wheels, she loved spending time at the outer beach with her family. She also spent many days enjoying the beach at Rock Harbor with her children, grandchildren and many friends. After she retired she enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing Scrabble and making chocolate brownies. She especially enjoyed family gatherings. She enjoyed many years of friendship and company with her good friend Joe Beals of Orleans. She is survived by three children, Nancy Miller of Villa Park Illinois, Marjory Gill of Orleans and Charles Miller of Eastham, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild and one great grandchild. A graveside service for family was held in Walpole on November 21, 2013 Maple Grove Cemetery. There will be a celebration of her life to be held some time in June 2014, to be announced at a later date.
