Starnes, Elizabeth NoellDec. 3, 1929 - Jun. 18, 2012Elizabeth Noell Starnes, 82, of Norfolk passed away Monday, June 18, 2012. Elizabeth "Libby" was born in Lunenberg County, VA to the late Wilton and Celeste Noell.She retired from Norfolk Naval Air Station. She had also worked at U.S. Lines and American Export Lines. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence "C.C." Starnes and her sister Maggie Mae Bull (Bill). Libby is survived by her daughters Karen McKeel (Doug) of Newport News, VA, Elizabeth Thompson (Dan) of Sarasota, FL, Celeste Miller (Fred) of Hampton, VA, and one sister Jean Shepherd (Darrell) of Norfolk, grandchildren Rebecca and Thomas McKeel and Clark and Lela Thompson. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 am at Miles Memorial United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church following the burial. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel is handling the arrangements.
