Betty Anne Miller Utica Elizabeth "Betty Anne" Miller, 85, of Utica, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Betty Anne was born in Utica, NY, on August 2, 1925, the daughter of John A. and Rosanne (McCuddin) Miller. She was raised and educated locally. Betty Anne was employed for many years with New York Telephone. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica. In her younger years, Betty Anne enjoyed golfing and bowling. She also enjoyed going to the Turning Stone Casino. Betty Anne was devoted to her family. She was a selfless and giving person who always put others needs and interests ahead of her own. Betty Anne is survived by five nieces and five nephews and their spouses, Diane and Robert Van Pelt, New Hartford, Rosanne and Thomas Furmanski, Utica, Kathleen and Dave Wells, Arizona, John and Joan Miller, Rome, Robert and June Miller, California, Sue and Ralph Rozelle, Marcellus, Carole Miller, Rhode Island, Kenneth Miller, Auburn, Paul Miller, Auburn, Mark Miller, Auburn; great nieces and great nephews, Elise, Bobby, John, James, Stephen, Nora and Chris, Beth, Teresa, Kelly, Erica, and Andrew, as well as many more great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews. Also surviving are several very special friends, including Kay Noon, New Hartford, Joan Finnegan, Whitesboro, Betty and Steve Murtaugh, Clarence, NY, Barbara Savage, Franklin Springs, and Richard Olejarczyk, Utica. She is predeceased by a sister, Sister Rosanne Miller, CSJ; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Bette Miller, Charles and Virgalee Miller; and a nephew, Thomas Miller. Miss Miller's funeral will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yorkville. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, Thursday evening from 7 - 9 pm. Those wishing may donate to Our Lady of Lourdes Church or to the Sisters of St. Joseph in Betty Annes memory. The family offers their thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of St. Elizabeth Medical Center Special Care Unit, and especially to Tracy Corr, for the care and kindness shown to Betty Anne and her family during her stay.
