->Michell, ElizabethElizabeth Michell, 83, a resident of McGraw House, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2011. She was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, daughter of the late Meshack Boyd and Mary Mabry Boyd. Elizabeth was the second child of eight. Elizabeth's family migrated to Brooklyn, NY, when she was three years old. She graduated from Clara Barton High School in 1946 and later Central School for Practical Nursing. Elizabeth then practiced nursing for the next forty years, of which thirty-seven were at Cumberland Hospital in the Fort Green section of Brooklyn, NY. During her career, she was well respected and highly requested by all the doctors with whom she worked. She had a profound passion for helping others. She effectively served as the Nurses Union Representative for several years. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of sixty years, Tomas Michell of Ithaca; her son and daughter-in-law, Antonio and Carolyn Michell of Maryland; daughter and son-in-law, Schelley and Fe Nunn of Ithaca; her grandchildren, Tony II, Ashlee, Alex and Cara Michell, Nia Makepeace and Fajhir and Eisah Nunn and her great grandchildren, Eamon, Rohan and Lochlan Makepeace. She is also survived by her brothers, Ralph Mabry and Henry Boyd; her sisters, Angie Isaac and Charlotte Boyd and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was also predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Boyd and Barbara Harrison and her brother, Richard Boyd. Funeral services will be celebrated by Father Leo Reinhardt on April 11, 2011, at 11 am at the Bangs Funeral Home. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's memory may be made to Catholic Charities or Hospice Care of Tompkins County.
