KENT MILLERFORMERLY OF ITHACA - Elizabeth "Betsey" Kent Miller, age 93, formerly of Upland Rd., Ithaca, died March 21, 2006 at Evergreen House in Jacksonville, NY.She was born August 26, 1912 in Syracuse, NY, to the late Cecil and Florence Almy Littlehales, attended Wells College, and graduated from Syracuse University. She was the widow of the late Lindley C. Kent and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Josiah B. Miller. Betsey was a member of AAUW, PTO, the Antique Study Group of Cornell Campus Club, and the Episcopal Church Women of St. John's Church where she once served on the vestry. She also worked at the Cornell Federal Credit Union in the 1960's under the tutelage of Richard Stringham. One of Betsey's favorite pastimes was researching the family genealogy all the way back to the Mayflower with her sister, Sylvia. She loved to travel across this country, Canada, and Europe, especially England, which was her heritage. She also was a friend and second family to many foreign students at Cornell.She is survived by a sister, Sylvia L. Nichols of Charlottesville, VA; a brother, Edward F. (Edna) Littlehales of Venice, FL and Skaneateles, NY; a daughter, Susan (Tony) Pesco of Ithaca, NY; a son, Robert (Brenda) Kent of Jacksonville, NY; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; as well as stepchildren, Nancy Milinic, Judy Merry, and Eric Miller.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, at St. John's Episcopal Church, Rev. Philip W. Snyder officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 210 N. Cayuga St., Ithaca, NY 14850, or the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by the E.C. Wagner Funeral Home of Ithaca.
