Elizabeth "Janie" (Rea) Kelly, El Cajon, Calif., passed away January 27, 2010, in San Diego after a long battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. She was memorialized at Shadow Mountain Church near San Diego on February 5th and in Covina, Calif., on the 8th. Janie was born August 19, 1943, in Los Angelos, Calif., She graduated from Covina High School in 1961, and attended Vanguard University and MSU. She worked as a travel agent for the local McDaniel agency, attended cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser in El Cajon, studied interior design and owned a decorating business. She enjoyed singing in several church choirs, in her youth at Covina Assembly of God, later at Pomona Assembly, locally at Evangel Temple, and most recently at Shadow Mountain in El Cajon. She is survived by her husband, Ken; three daughters, Michal Kyle and husband Rick, Mindy Bonds Kelly, Morgan Ash; and three stepchildren, Erin Blakey, Sean Kelly and wife Kristie, Kris Kelly and wife Kelly; three grand children, Brett Blakey, Kylie Blakey and Nathan Kelly; two sisters, Barbara and husband Dennis McNutt, Claudia and husband Lothar Messmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mary Rea; her late husband, Jim Bonds; and sister, Julie Myers. Janie was a faithful witness of her faith in Jesus Christ. She was devoted to her family and cared deeply for the well-being of her children and friends. Many called her a cherished friend and confidant.
