ABINGTON Elizabeth J. Betty (Smith) Walls, 84, of Abington, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Colony House Nursing Home, in Abington. Daughter of the late William and Cathryn (Gleason) Smith, she was born in Dubuque, Iowa, May 30, 1925. She was raised and educated in Abington and was a member of the Ladies Sodality at St. Bridgets Church in Abington and a volunteer for the American Heart Association. Wife of the late Charles T. Walls Jr., she is survived by two sons, Tim Walls and his wife Rosie of Abington and Peter Walls and his wife Lisa of Plymouth; three daughters, Ann Flanders and her husband Robert of East Greenwich, R.I., Janny Kelliher and her husband Patrick of Abington and Mary Thompson and her husband Richard of Norwell. Also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Bridget Church, 455 Plymouth St., Rte. 58, in Abington. Interment in St. Patricks Cemetery in Rockland. Visiting hours omitted. Arrangements by the Sullivan Funeral Home in Rockland.
