The memorial service for Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Walker, 78, of Rutland, who died Jan. 28, 2012, was held Jan. 31 at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ. The Rev. John Weatherhogg, senior minister, and the Rev. Matt Owen, interim pastor of Union Church of Proctor, officiated. Organist was Rip Jackson. Soloist was Virginia Walker, a daughter-in-law. Kari, Charisse, Logan, Stefanie and E.J., all grandchildren, performed a song. A son, Richard Walker, offered the eulogy. Family and friends gave words of remembrance. A reception was held in Fellowship Hall. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tossing Funeral Home.
