Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter in Gadsden for Elizabeth Inez Jennings, who died Friday, July 16, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. The Rev. Joan M. Henrick will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.Ms. Jennings was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Jennings Sr. Ms. Jennings and her husband owned and operated Townhouse Restaurant in East Gadsden for 35 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glencoe.She is survived by her son, Gadsden Attorney John W. Jennings Jr.; daughter, Patricia K. Jennings (Ronald) Ponder; grandsons, Christopher R. (Emily) Messer, R. Shane (Tammy) Ponder, S. Craig (Stacey) Ponder and Derrick (Candace) Ponder; nine great-grandchildren; brother, George (Linda) Eads, Montgomery; sister, Linda Sue (Ronald) Hilley, Gadsden; sisters-in-law, Helen Jennings, Elma Walls, Geraldine Davis, Audrey Daves and Ann Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Lawley Hospice for their special care and kindness.In lieu of flowers, Inez requested donations be made to the building fund or the church bus fund of the First Baptist Church of Glencoe, 103 North College Street, Glencoe, AL 35905.Pallbearers will be Shane Ponder, Craig Ponder, Derrick Ponder, Ronald Ponder and Ronald Hilley.
