Elizabeth I. Hendersonof VestalElizabeth I. Henderson, 90, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman C. Henderson; and is survived by her son, Norman D. (Marjorie), Oberlin, Ohio; daughters, Constance Henderson (Alvin Gordon), Tarrytown, N.Y., Carol Knapp (Frederick), Orchard Park, N.Y. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Carol Henderson (Priscilla Smith), Brooklyn, N.Y., Lucy Cryan (Kevin), Columbus, Ohio, Eric Knapp (Cristina), Cazenovia, N.Y., Heather Gloudemans (Brian), Bethel, Conn.; six great-grandchildren, Lucy, Peter, Samuel, Anna, Emily and Riley; her sisters, Margaret Ryan and Bertha Toncola; and also several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Henderson grew up in Binghamton and resided in the NYC area until returning to Vestal in 1982. She worked at Nestle Company until retiring in 1974. Elizabeth was a person who enjoyed life with her family and friends and will always be remembered for her smile and her generosity. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends at her home.Funeral services will be held Sunday (today) at 2:00 p.m. at the All Saints Episcopal Church with the Rev. Christine Day, Rector of the church officiating. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, 3300 Monroe Ave., Suite 319, Rochester, N.Y. 14618, or the Macular Degeneration Association, 210 East 64th Street, 8th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10021.
