<!-- FH = West Funeral Home -->Elizabeth "Libby" HuntleyWeaverville - Elizabeth "Libby" Huntley, age 87, of 6 Deerpen Drive died Sunday, October 14, 2012.Mrs. Huntley was born January 11, 1925, in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. During World War II she was a clerk at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. She later was a volunteer at the VA Hospital through American War Mothers. She was a charter member of Biltmore Christ Temple. Her everyday life was all about helping others. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington and Ruby Cooper Phipps; her husband, Warren Calvin Huntley who died in 1993; and her brothers, George and Marvin Phipps.Surviving are her daughters, Rev. Sonia Burleson of Weaverville and Joan Miller and husband Jon of Amesbury, Mass.; sons, Pat Huntley and wife Georgia "Sandy" of Charlotte, Tom Huntley and wife Frieda of Fletcher, and Dr. Douglas Huntley and wife Rebecca of Hendersonville; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Biltmore Christ Temple, 260 Fairview Rd., Asheville, with Revs. Samuel Burleson and James Gass officiating.
