Elizabeth H. Cox September 25, 2011 Elizabeth H. Cox, 89, of Throop Ave., Auburn, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 25, 2011. Mrs. Cox was born in Dansville, NY, on November 21, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Raymond T. and Florence Johantgen White. Elizabeth was a veteran of WWII, she proudly served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Washington D.C. She was a licensed practical nurse for many years, working at Mercy Hospital, Auburn Memorial Hospital and for Hospice. Elizabeth was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church and a former member of the American Legion. She is survived by her children, Linda Cox-Randolph and her husband, Charles, J. Michael Cox, both of Auburn, Robert J. Cox of Skaneateles, Richard M. Cox of SC and David D. Cox of Auburn; her brother, Paul B. White of Fleming; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Neal Duane Cox in 1996; her son, Paul Edward Cox, in 1991; and her brother, William White. Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will follow at Sand Beach Cemetery, Fleming. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends and family will be gathering at the Millstone Restaurant on Rt. 5 in Elbridge, immediately following services. Donations in memory of Elizabeth H. Cox may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Dr., Auburn.
