GUNTHER - Elizabeth "Betty," 93, died Thursday, December 21, at Milford Manor in West Milford, NJ. Betty is predeceased by her cherished husband Gus Gunther who died in 1974. She is survived by her loving daughters Joan Pierson of Bedminster, NJ, Judy Mazur and her husband Joe of West Milford, NJ, and her sister Frieda Brennan of Peru, Illinois. She will be missed by her dear grandchildren Jeff and Mike Mazur, Laura Milo and Marni Baum. She will also be missed by her great grandchildren Cara and Tessa Milo, Michael Mazur and William and Pierson Baum. Mrs. Gunther had resided in Bergenfield for 40 years before she and her husband retired to Long Beach Island. While living on LBI she was very social, volunteered for Deborah Hospital. She loved to knit and crochet and donated many exquisite hand-knit items to Deborah. Betty was most of all an avid animal lover and rescuer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or a preferred animal shelter. Cremation was private.
