BRETON Elizabeth (Betty) Frances Breton, 94, of Farmington, formerly of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her home. She was born in Seymour on April 22, 1918, the beloved daughter of the late Emile and Anna Kersey Breton. Betty was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd and was a member of Our Lady Society of the Church. She was a graduate of the Seymour Public Schools and a 1941 graduate of UConn with a BS in Home Economics and in 1962 she was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with an M.E. degree in Home Economics Education. Betty taught at the Mepic ORAL School for the Deaf for three years and at Seymour High School for 32 years. She was a member of the Natural Education Association, the American Association of Family and Consumer Services, the American Association for Retired Persons, the Emblem Club of Ansonia, and was a volunteer at Griffin Hospital since 1978. Betty moved from Seymour to Farmington in 2003. Betty will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Her loving family includes her beloved special friends William, Elizabeth, Laurie, Christine, Lynn and Arianna Strand of Farmington. In addition to her parents, Betty is predeceased by her cherished sisters, Mary Genevieve Breton and Virginia Ann Breton. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Betty's life will be held on Monday June 11, 2012 at 10:00AM in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home 260 Bank St. (Rt. 67), Seymour, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, West Stockbridge, Ma. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00AM - 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd Improvement Fund or to The Office of Radio and Television, Archdiocese of Hartford (TV Mass) through the Miller-Ward Funeral Home.
