Elizabeth Fae (Rucker) Stout was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the age of 89. Her death resulted from a short illness from pancreatic cancer.Born Jan. 13, 1924, she was the daughter of Arthur and Minnie (Mahurin) Rucker, Acme. She was a 1941 graduate of Cortland High School and in 1942 from Approved Beauty College in Indianapolis. She opened her own beauty salon in 1944 and continued its operation for 50 years.On Sept. 7, 1946, she married Erman Stout. They were married 59 years until his death in 2005. They had three children, Kenneth Erman (Marla) Stout, Dover, N.H., Dr. David Rucker (Debby) Stout, Seymour; and Joyce Doreen (Marty) Irwin, Indianapolis; four grandchildren, David (Kristen) Stout, Dover, N.H., Christopher Stout, Keene, N.H., Emily (Mike) Jackson, Westfield, and Meghan (Clint) Swan, Bloomington; eight great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Stout, Dover, N.H., Katelyn and Nathan Stout, Keene, N.H., Cooper, Isabelle and Esther Jackson, Westfield; and Liam and Abby Swan, Bloomington.She was one of 11 full and half siblings. All have preceded in her in death except Wanda Gehlbach of Middletown, Pa.Elizabeth Stout was a member of First Baptist Church of Seymour for more than 60 years. She was a member of the choir and taught Sunday School in the youth department, Tri Mu Class, Philathea Class, Crusader Class and Valli Howard Missionary Circle. Mrs. Stout was a member of the music committee, vision team committee and pastoral search committee. She also served on the deaconess, personnel and trustee boards at church.In her latter years, she was a volunteer in the church's clothing ministry and funeral dinner ministry. Her hobbies included flower gardening, sewing and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Seymour, with pastors Bruce Cochran and Larry Tingle officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Voss Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Mission Fund or to Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.A complete obituary may be viewed on the funeral home website at www.vossfuneralservice.com
