CONCORD -- Elizabeth Cushman Davis, 84, died Jan. 12, 2011. She was a resident of the Havenwood-Heritage Heights community in Concord. A graduate of The Brearley School in New York City, she was owner and founder of Banrock Boxers, a championship breeding concern, in the 1950s and 1960s, and a real estate agent in New Hampshire during the 1970s. She was a fervent naturalist, living 25 years on "The Pond" in Warner. She was treasurer and library secretary in the Havenwood-Heritage Heights Residents' Association. She was active in the search committee for rector and assistant priest at her parish, St. Paul Episcopal Church. She was an accomplished pianist, ardent reader, writer, painter, seamstress, upholsterer, woodworker, pool shark, floral arranger, motorcyclist, water skier and camper. She was predeceased by her husband, Virgil Leland Davis; son, Richard Alan Davis, and her parents, Gordon Stuart and Elizabeth Coffin Cushman of Pawling, N.Y. Family members include sons, Robert Leland Davis of Fairhaven, Mass.; Thomas Dodge Cocks of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughters, Cynthia (Cocks) Thompson, of Long Lake, N.Y. and Nancy (Cocks) Rines of Shirley, Mass.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. IN HER LIFE: She is also survived by nephew Gordon Stuart Cushman III. She was also predeceased by brother Gordon Stuart Cushman Jr. SERVICES: Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home 209 North Main Street, Concord. A funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 21 Centre St., Concord.
