DELMAR Elizabeth D. Betty Johnson, 90, of Delmar, died Thursday, June 16, 2005 at her home. She was born in Hudson Falls on January 28, 1915, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Soltis) Dobroski. Betty graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1932, received her R.N. degree from St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam in 1935 and graduated from New Haven School of Physical Therapy in 1938. She worked as physical therapy supervisor in Good Samaritan Hospital, Watertown and Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira. Locally, she worked as an R.N. at St. Peter's Hospital and as a social worker for Albany County, retiring in 1980 from Albany County Nursing Home. Betty enjoyed traveling, especially to foreign countries. She enjoyed crafts, reading and assisting people in need. She was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Seniors, AARP and the Bethlehem Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Johnson; two sons, Thomas Lee Johnson and David J. Luke Johnson; an infant daughter, Mary Anne Johnson; a brother, John Dobroski; two sisters, Helen Hamel Monda and Anne Simmons. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Johnson of Delmar; two sisters, Mary T. Dobroski of Albany and Margaret Moore and her husband Bernard of Syracuse; a brother, Andrew Dobroski and his wife Catherine of Hudson Falls; special friends, Kim, Patrick and Hannah Myers of Troy; many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, Delmar. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Those who wish may send a remembrance in her name to St. Thomas the Apostle Church Memorial Fund, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar, NY 12054.
