ELIZABETH (BETTY) C. MORRISMay 27, 2013The Lord has finished preparing a room for our mother, Betty (Elizabeth) Morris, who passed away quietly on May 27, 2013. Betty was born on December 24, 1919 in Winthrop, MA. Growing up she spent many enjoyable summers in Lake Titus, NY. She attended Wheelock College, the University of New Hampshire and S.U.N.Y. Oswego. , She was a 75 year member of Alpha Xi Delta. She began her 25 year teaching career in Port Byron, NY where she met and married her husband in 1943, Wendell. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell; parents, Amos and Grace Crooks; 2 sisters, Helen Gibbons and Polly Sadler. Left to remember our wonderful mother are her 3 children, Susan (Rich) Symes, N.Ft. Myers, FL; Barbara (Walt) Wermuth , Inlet, NY & S. Ft. Myers, FL and Bob (Helen) Morris Anchorage, AK; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; I nephew and hundreds of friends. Betty loved to play Bridge and baking cookies, and was a member of the D.A.R., Redhatters, Goodtimers, Young at Hearts, F.I.S.H. of Del Tura and Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Memorials may be sent to honor her memory to; The Hope program @ Hope Hospice, The Inlet Public Library, Inlet, NY 13360 or organization of your choice.
