Carpenter, Elizabeth C. TROY Elizabeth C. Carpenter, 82, of Lansingburgh, died on July 13, 2009 at the Albany Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was the devoted wife of the late Nelson J. Carpenter who died on November 29, 2007. Mrs. Carpenter was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and the Troy Business College. She had formerly worked for the Frear Company and retired from Levonian Brothers in Troy as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh. Survivors include her sons, Merritt Carpenter and his wife Lynne of Ballston Spa and John Carpenter of Mechanicville; daughters, Jean Carpenter of Lansingburgh and Joan Ceas and her husband Arthur of Delmar; and grandchildren, Arthur Ceas Jr. and Jennifer Ceas of Delmar and Paige Carpenter of Ballston Spa. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Avenue (124th and 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh. Friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Troy.
