Obituary of Elizabeth-Barbara-Hall Clark


CLARK Elizabeth Barbara Hall Clark, age 89. After a brief illness Betty Clark died at home on Monday, December 13, 2004. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hall and has resided her whole life at the home her grandfather built, on Brewster Road, Milford. She was a graduate of Milford High School, class of 1933, recieved a BA in Drama from Emerson College in 1937 and then taught at Larson Jr College. During World War II she worked at Chance Vought in Stratford. For many years Mrs. Clark and her husband owned and operated Clark-Hall Hardware in Woodmont. She was past president of the visiting nurses association in Milford and also served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at the Woodmont Union Chapel. She was a passionate and talented gardener and a longtime member of the Milford Garden Club. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Charles R. Clark; her daughter, Barbara Clark; her son, Charles R. Clark Jr. and his wife, Claire Clark; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, John P. Hall. There will be a private memorial service for her family. Friends wishing to call may do so on Friday, from 2 to 4 at 79 Brewster Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milford Library.
