Obituary of Elizabeth-Anne Morriss


Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Morriss, 81, died March 19, 2012, at St. Lucie Medical Center She was born in Teaneck, N.J., and lived in Port St. Lucie since 1994, moving from Addison, N.Y. She was a graduate of Mills College of Education in New York, N.Y. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Addison. She also was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1236; American Legion Auxiliary 355 of Port St. Lucie; life member of SLMC Auxiliary Volunteer; Girl Scout leader in Battle Creek, Mich.; and was an active member of Tuscarora-Woodhull Chapter 273 Order of the Eastern Star of the State of New York, where she was Chapter Matron 1985 and Grand Electa 1989. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Henry W. Morriss of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Jeannette M. DeLong of Winter Springs; son, John H. Morriss of Port St. Lucie; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur R. Ferrara; and a granddaughter, Nicole E. DeLong. Services: Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. March 24 at the Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fernhill Memorial Gardens, Stuart. A guestbook is available at www.aycockportstlucie.com.
