Elizabeth Ann Stuart, 71 KENNEBUNK -- Elizabeth Ann Stuart, 71, of Wakefield Road, died suddenly on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Southern Maine Medical Center. She was born in Portland, on Dec. 10, 1939, the youngest of 11 children born to Victor and Marjorie (McIntire) Woodbrey. She grew up in the Sebago Lake area, graduating from Standish High School. She then graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in Home Economics. She was introduced by a friend to her future husband, David Stuart. They married on May 24, 1991. Although primarily a homemaker, she also taught Home Economics in the Old Orchard Beach school system, and worked in the bookkeeping departments of both Kennebunk Savings and Ocean National Bank. Elizabeth enjoyed knitting, sewing, church activities and traveling with David. She devoted much of her time to her family. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, with whom she loved to spend quality time. She was a member of the Ogunquit Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on various committees. She was also a member of Fern Chapter #139, Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Cecil, Edward and Leonard Woodbrey, and two sisters, Mabelle and Mary Alice. Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 20 years, David Stuart of Kennebunk; her son, Scott Shapleigh Drown of Lyman, her daughter, Holly Elizabeth Nason and her husband Dana Nason Jr. of Lyman; her stepson, David J. Stuart and his wife DeeAnne of Exeter, N.H.; a sister, Mrs. Robert Lekachman of Windham, four brothers, Herbert Woodbrey of Sebago Lake, James Woodbrey of Arizona, Victor Woodbrey of Gorham, and Henry Woodbrey of Orono; seven grandchildren, Duncan and Sarah Stuart, Timothy John Isham, Miranda, Derrick, Alanna and Seth Drown; and a great-grandchild, Skylar Rose Drown. Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Ogunquit Baptist Church, 157 Shore Rd., Ogunquit. Private burial in the Stuart Family Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
