ELIZABETH SMITH ANDERSON1911-2006Elizabeth Smith Anderson, age 95 of Milton, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2006. She was a native of Montgomery, Alabama. Her circuit Methodist pastor father brought her to our local area where she began teaching school in Santa Rosa County when she was Sixteen years old. She went on to teach in Jackson County and the Ormond Beach area and later served as principal in the South Daytona area. She went on to further her education at Huntington College in Montgomery and the University of Florida (She was an AVID GATOR fan), she received her Masters from Stetson University. She was a founding member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, where she provided the music for many years. She was a member of the Shakespeare Club, Santa Rosa Historical Society, Milton Garden Club, United Methodist Woman's Club, and numerous Bridge Clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. S. J. and Dora Lee Gibson, brothers, Cecil Gibson, Glenn Gibson, Mike Gibson, Jack Gibson, S. T. Gibson and sisters, Aline Thomas, Lora Bell Gibson Laurencia Fleming and Mary GibsonShe is survived by several nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 4, 2007 in the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. John Kuritz and Rev. Mark Dees officiating. LEWIS FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 4701 School Lane, Pace, Florida 32571.
