Elizabeth Adams, born in 1928, spouse of Charles-Eugene Adams, mother of Jr, Robert M and Darby Adams, died on September 26, 2014 at 86 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Elizabeth "Betty" Hall Adams, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2014 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.The Tift County native had lived in Statesboro for many years. She was a member of Statesboro First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Crusaders Sunday School class. She attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, GA. Betty was a homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Charles Eugene Adams, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Hall of Tifton, Ga. and her beloved grandson, Charles Russell Whitaker.Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Darby Adams Benson and Dr. Robert M. Benson, Jr. and Leigh Adams Whitaker and Ken Whitaker all of Statesboro; her grandchildren, Robert Benson, III and his wife Anna Hicklin Benson of Charleston, S.C.; Bess Benson Toussaint and her husband Dr. Nick Toussaint of Statesboro; Laura Whitaker Howard and her husband, Andrew Howard of Smyrna, Ga.; one sister, Katherine Hall of Tifton, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Leon C. Hall of Rock Hill, S.C.; Mr. and Mrs. William H. Hall of Jacksonville, Fla. and one sister-in-law, Patricia Adams Devane of Crystal River, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Caroline Toussaint ; Catherine Howard; Robert Benson, IV; and many loving nieces and nephews .The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Statesboro First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Cason and her nephew, Dr. Charles P. Adams officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Crusaders Sunday School Class of Statesboro First United Methodist Church.A private interment will be in Eastside Cemetery.Remembrances may be made to: First United Methodist Church, P.
