ELIZABETH ADAMS "BETTY" WHITING, IN Elizabeth "Betty" Adams (nee Kozak), age 68, of Whiting, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Munster Med Inn. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, David; loving mother of David (Lorraine) Adams, Jr. of Libertyville, IL and Paul Adams of Highland, IN; cherished grandma of David III, Annie and Mary Jo; dearest sister of Mary (Richard) Kasprzak of Whiting, IN and Joseph (Pat) Kozak of Crown Point, IN; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S. officiating. Interment St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation at the funeral home Friday from 2:00- 5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The St. John Rosary Society, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc., Br. 81, together with members of the parish, will offer prayers at the funeral home on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Betty Adams was born on September 10, 1939 to Paul A. and Mary (Manchak) Kozak and was a lifelong resident of Whiting. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, the St. John Rosary Society, the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc. Br. 81 and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School Class of 1957. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. (219) 659-4400
