ANDERSON-Elizabeth Anne on Monday, March 14, 2005. Elizabeth (Lil) Anderson of Maple Creek and formerly of Regina died in her sleep at the age of 87. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Maple Creek on Saturday March 19 at 11:00 a.m. Lil was predeceased by her husband Don, sister Margaret, and brother Jack, and is survived by her three sons Hal (Margaret) of Calgary, Lynn (Paulette) of Fort Qu'Appelle and Jay (Maureen) of Saskatoon; granddaughters Tamara Robinson (Richard) of Calgary, Lisa Anderson of Hamilton Ontario, Alana Anderson (Michael Geiger) of Calgary, Jessica Green (Chad) of London Ontario and Eva Anderson of Saskatoon; great grandson Bodie Robinson of Calgary; sister Ann Saville of Eastend and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lil was born in Regina, the daughter of Harold and Anna Bull June 3, 1917. After Normal School in Regina, she taught at the Farwell Creek School near Ravenscrag. She married Donald in 1940 and lived in Robsart, Prince Rupert, and Saskatoon before settling in Regina. Lil was an active member of every community where she lived. During her time in Regina she was a founding member of St. Luke's Anglican Church, provincial president and national board member of the Consumers Association of Canada and an avid bridge player, curler and golfer. When she and Don retired to Maple Creek, Lil maintained her interests in curling and golf and joined St. Mary's church, the Maple Creek Oldtimers, the board of Camp Harding, and several bridge clubs. Since 1953, Lil spent every summer at her cottage in Cypress Hills Park. These summers were a great joy to her. Lil loved to travel and she and Don saw much of the world together. After Don's death she toured South America, Africa and Europe. Internment will take place at a later date in Ravenscrag Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memoriam to Amnesty International.
