Elizabeth-A. Shea, born in 1930, daughter of Harold and Matilda, died on June 9, 2014 at 84 years old.
Elizabeth A. “Betty” Shea RED HOOK - Elizabeth A. “Betty” Shea, 84, of Annandale-On-Hudson, N.Y., passed away on Monday, June 9th, 2014 at her home after a long illness. Born on March 7th, 1930, in Yonkers, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Matilda (Harris) Shea. Miss Shea moved to Annandale as a young child and had been a lifetime resident. Betty retired from Bard College with 56 years of service to her credit. She also was active with St. Sylvia’s Church in Tivoli- during the tenure of Monsignor Kane. She worked as Msgr. Kane’s assistant in church affairs and also in the training of the altar servers. She is survived by her Brother-in-Law; Benjamin Jones, and a niece and nephew; Kerry and Michael Jones, all of Londonderry, N.H. A second nephew; Patrick Jones, was living with Betty in their Annandale home at the time of her death. In addition she is also survived by many friends and colleagues. She was predeceased by a sister; Mary Jones. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Cemetery, River Rd., Barrytown, N.Y. on Friday, June 13th at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S.
