Obituary of Elise-Lee Cox-Knight


Elise Lee Cox-Knight, 80, died Jan. 14, 2011, at her home. She was born in Quincy and lived in Wabasso for three months, coming from her birthplace. Before retirement, she was a self-employed beautician and worked in the agriculture industry. She was of the Baptist faith. She attended Gadsden County public schools. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert Knight of Quincy; sons, Willie Cox of Gifford, Hubert Cox of Jacksonville, Elijah Knight of Gretna and Ronnie Knight of Quincy; daughters, Rosa M. Stinson, Catherine Ealy, both of Wabasso, Brenda Knight, Jennie Knight, both of Tallahassee, Linda Smith of Jacksonville, Abigail Jones of Sebastian, and Dora Mosley of Panama City; 33 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, John Thomas and Bradshaw Knight. Services: A home-going celebration will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 at First Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Quincy with the Rev. Perry Robinson officiating and the Rev. Kevin Williams as pastor. Burial will follow in Sunnyvale Cemetery in Quincy. Arrangements are by Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart. A guestbook may be signed at thornes mortuary.com.
